Columbia Public Schools Foundation Fetes 2007 Hall of Leaders Honorees

The Columbia Public Schools Foundation, a private foundation established by community volunteers dedicated to the enrichment of public education through community giving, feted its 2007 Hall of Leaders honorees, outstanding individuals who are alumni, volunteers, and retired educators of the Columbia Public Schools.

The honorees were recognized at an event on October 18, 2007 at Lela Raney Wood Hall on the Stephens College campus. The awards were presented to the inductees by Dr. Wendy Libby, President of Stephens College, who served as Honorary Chair for the event. Joe Moseley serves as Master of Ceremonies.

The Foundation believes that by honoring the outstanding contributions of these outstanding alumni, volunteers, and retired educators we will emphasize to our community, especially to young people, that education is the foundation for success. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $358,000 in grants supporting curricular enhancements in every school in the district, while building an endowment of more than $1 million.
